Starting May 2, 2025, new regulations are expected to tighten how de minimis is applied, especially for certain categories of goods or countries of origin. This means that even if your shipment is under $800, some products may no longer be eligible for the exemption.
To determine whether your goods are affected:
Look up your product’s code using the Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) Search Tool
Ask your supplier or customs broker to confirm the HTS code and whether your products are impacted
If your goods lose de minimis eligibility, they may be subject to import duties or additional documentation requirements.
