When you place a sourcing order on Pietra, your final cost includes several components. Your Product Cost and Shipping & Handling costs are determined directly between you and your supplier, the Payment Processing Fee is a flat percentage fee added at checkout, and you may add optional Shipping Assurance or Sample Assurance protections at checkout.
Below is a clear breakdown of each part of the total order cost.
1. Product Cost
The product cost is the price you and your supplier agree upon for the goods themselves. This is negotiated directly between both parties and depends on product type, quantity, materials, and any custom work.
2. Shipping & Handling
Shipping and handling fees are also negotiated between you and your supplier. These fees can vary based on:
Shipping method (air, sea, express courier, etc.)
The supplier’s location
Your delivery destination
Selected Incoterm (e.g., EXW, FOB, DDP)
The supplier will provide an estimated shipping cost and confirm the method being used.
3. Payment Processing Fee (3%)
Pietra charges a 3% payment processing fee on the total order amount. This fee covers secure payment processing and ensures your supplier is paid out quickly and reliably after your order is placed.
How it’s calculated:
Payment Processing Fee = 3% × Total Order Cost
The total order cost includes product cost + shipping + handling.
4. Optional Order Coverage
At checkout, you can add assurance to protect your order.
Shipping Assurance (3%)
Shipping Assurance covers issues related to shipping, like loss or damage in transit.
How it’s calculated:
Shipping Assurance = 3% × Total Order Cost
Sample Assurance (10%)
Sample Assurance is available for sample orders only and covers issues related to quality or production for single-unit sample items.
How it’s calculated:
Sample Assurance = 10% × Total Order Cost
Coverage is optional and can be added or removed before you submit your order.
