What it does
This AI Assistant keeps an eye on the market by discovering emerging competitors or brands in your space that you might not be aware of. It scans social media and other platforms to alert you to “who’s trending” in your niche. In essence, it’s like a competitive intelligence analyst making sure you know your competitive landscape.
How it works
While running in the background (or when prompted “find new competitors”), the AI will:
Monitor social media & trends – It uses Pietra Pulse or similar to track hashtags, keywords, and content related to your industry. For instance, if you sell vegan snacks, it’s tracking terms like “vegan snacks”, “healthy snacks” and seeing which brand names pop up frequently or go viral recently.
Identify spikes or newcomers – The AI looks for brands that had sudden increases in mentions, or new brands that weren’t on your radar before. It might note, “Brand X – launched 6 months ago – has a post that went viral this week in your category,” or “Brand Y – a competitor – is trending due to a new product launch.”
Gather key info on them – For each identified competitor, the Assistant compiles a quick profile: their name, what they sell, why they are trending (perhaps they got celebrity endorsement or introduced an innovation). It may even pull follower counts or engagement stats to show they’re gaining traction.
Report to you – You’ll get an easy-to-read update like “New Competitor Spotlight: XYZ Co., specializing in exactly the niche you’re in, recently featured in a popular TikTok challenge.” Possibly, it might recommend checking them out or even suggest actions (“They’re doing well with college-age customers – consider targeting that segment too”).
Why it’s useful
If you’re a busy founder, you might not notice a new competitor until they’ve already captured market share or their campaign affects your sales. This Assistant gives you early warnings and insights, which can inform your strategy. Knowing what others are doing (especially newcomers who might have fresh ideas) is valuable: you can learn from them, differentiate yourself more, or even preemptively respond. It’s like having an analyst who never sleeps, scanning the internet for anything relevant to your brand’s competitive space. This saves you the effort of manually keeping up with industry news or trends on Twitter/Instagram – the AI curates it for you. Staying informed can be the difference between being proactive or reactive in your marketing and product development.
Example use case
A niche tea brand gets a report from this Assistant: it discovers a new competitor that’s selling “bubble tea kits” online and has gone viral on Instagram. The report highlights that “DIY bubble tea” is trending. With this knowledge, the tea brand decides to create some social content around bubble tea using their own tea (or even consider a kit product). They wouldn’t have known this trend was catching on so fast without the AI’s heads-up. This way, they ride the wave instead of missing it.
